Module details

Module

This screen shows all the settings of a module: its schedule, the timeslots along with attendance, the participants, the color in the week plan, and the notes. The title at the top shows the module name.

Schedule management

Here you define when and how often the module takes place.

Days — One button per weekday. Tapping selects or deselects a day; selected days are highlighted. The weekdays are the key to timeslot management: only once at least one day is selected do Start, Duration, Timeslots, and the timeslot list appear. If no day is selected, timeslot management is switched off and the module merely serves as a container for notes.

Date range — An optional period during which the module runs. The row is collapsed and shows a summary on the right (“From …", “Until …", “… to …", or “Unlimited"). When expanded, you can set a Start and an End. As long as a field is empty, it shows a suggestion together with a plus symbol to apply it; you remove a set date via the red trash icon. Without limits, the module keeps repeating indefinitely. If the end date lies in the past, the module counts as ended.

Repeat — Controls the cadence of the dates and only appears once a start date is set, because its calendar week is the anchor of the repetitions. Under Unit you choose between weekly and monthly. Under Interval you set the step (e.g. Weekly, Every 2 weeks …, or Monthly, Every 3 months …). For monthly repetition you additionally specify under Weeks in which week of the month (1st–5th occurrence of the weekday) the module takes place; if no week is selected, it never takes place and a warning appears.

Next date — Only for multi-week repetition. With this you move the next upcoming date forward or backward relative to its regular position (One week earlier, Regular, One week later …). This is a phase shift: from the new position the interval continues regularly, rather than relocating a single date. Regular restores the original cadence. Steps whose date would lie in the past are omitted.

Start — The time at which the module begins. When you turn the wheel, the new time is at first only pending — a confirmation row appears below it with three options:

Next date only applies the time once as an exception for the next scheduled day. After that the regular time applies again; a note “Only on …" below the field reminds you of this and disappears on its own the day after the exception date.

All dates applies the time permanently as the new regular start time.

The X discards the pending change. If you turn the wheel back to the currently valid time by hand, the confirmation row disappears as well.

Duration — The total duration of the module in minutes (or None for modules that serve only as note containers). The start times of the individual timeslots are derived automatically from the duration and the number of timeslots.

Timeslots — The number of timeslots (1 to 10). The list below follows this number automatically. If you reduce the number, the excess timeslots are not lost: they move — along with their name, participants, absences, and notes — into an overflow. If you increase the number again later, they return from there before new, empty timeslots are created. Alternatively, you retrieve the most recently removed timeslot via the More menu (three-dot symbol) at the top right with Undelete timeslot; it then appears at the very bottom of the list. This entry is visible only as long as timeslots remain in the overflow.

Calendar sync — This switch appears only if calendar sync is turned on in Settings under Calendar and not all modules are being synced there anyway. When it is on, the module's dates are written as calendar entries. Independently of this, the module's timeslots always appear in the week plan.

Using the Schedule button at the top right you show and hide the schedule management; when collapsed, a compact, non-editable summary of weekdays, start, duration, and — if it differs from the default — repetition remains visible.

Timeslots

Each row represents a timeslot and shows its start time, the name, the participant count in parentheses, and an eye symbol on the right. Tapping the row opens the corresponding timeslot with its participants and details.

Attendance — The eye symbol cycles the timeslot for the next module date: present (outline) → unexcused absent (red, struck through) → excused absent (green, struck through) → present again. Absent rows show their name in gray and hide the time; the following timeslots move up in time, because an absence consumes no time. If there are participants in the timeslot, the toggle is coupled to them. If you log an absence on a day without a module date or beyond the last date, the app asks for confirmation and names the affected date.

Bulk actions — Via the menu (three-dot symbol) next to the Timeslots heading you set all timeslots of the next date in one go: All present, All excused absent, or All unexcused absent. With more than one timeslot you also find Rotate here.

Rotate — Moves the first timeslot to the end; all others move up one position. This way, who goes first changes in turn. Name, participants, absences, and notes each move along; the times are derived anew from the position.

Rotation reminder — As soon as the last session of a week is over, a dedicated row “Rotation pending" reminds you of the still-outstanding weekly rotation. Tapping the row rotates immediately; the X on the right hides the reminder for this week only. The reminder appears only after a rotation has been performed at least once, and with more than one timeslot.

Edit mode — The Edit button at the top right appears as soon as timeslots exist. In it you can rename the timeslots and reorder them via the handle on the right. On entering, the schedule management is collapsed automatically and expanded again on leaving. Outside edit mode you can also drag a timeslot to a new position.

Coloring — If the currently running timeslot is active, its row is highlighted in blue. If unexcused absence days accumulate, the row turns orange from a warning threshold and red from an error threshold. You set these rules and their thresholds in Settings under Rules; there the coloring can also be turned off entirely.

Module notes

Via the More menu (three-dot symbol) at the top right, Module notes opens a notes area that belongs to the entire module — independent of individual dates or timeslots. Here you record what concerns the whole module. In addition, each individual timeslot has its own notes: if there are any, a note symbol appears in the timeslot row to the left of the eye, through which you open them directly.

Import a name list

The More menu also holds Import names. With it you read the participant names from a CSV or text file and replace the module's existing name list. The column separator is the semicolon; per line only the first cell counts as a name, and commas belong to the name. Umlauts are recognized even from Excel exports. As soon as a name list exists, the menu entry is tinted green.

Module color

The colored circle at the top right shows the color in which this module's timeslots appear in the week plan. Tapping it opens the color picker with a grid of fixed colors and the Smart colors section. Two entries are special:

Magic wand (automatic color) — The module automatically receives a fixed color from the palette, depending on its position in the module list. This way all blocks of a module look the same and neighboring modules differ. In the toolbar circle a white magic wand marks this choice.

Absence color (eye symbol) — A smart color computed from the absences. Instead of a fixed color, each block in the week plan shows the color of its absence level (gray/orange/red according to the same thresholds as the row coloring). This way you can tell at a glance in the week plan where absences accumulate. In the toolbar circle a white struck-through eye marks this choice.

Participants

The participants list shows all participants of the module across all timeslots, sorted alphabetically; each name is followed by its timeslot. So it is the overall overview of the module, not the participants of a single timeslot. Using the heading you expand and collapse the list. Tapping a row opens the participant detail.

The absence coloring applies here too: if unexcused absence days accumulate for a participant — counted from their own absences and those of their timeslot, identical days only once — their row turns orange from the warning threshold and red from the error threshold. The thresholds apply module-wide and are set in Settings under Rules.
